No Waste Ink Tank in Epson L 110 Printer

Usually in Epson Printers, there is a hidden Waste Ink Tank somewhere in the Printer's bottom. There is also a set of Waste Ink Pads to absorb Waste Ink. When the Ink Pads gets Saturated with Ink and can no longer take more ink.

The printer's Software prompts the computer, to replace the Waste Ink Pads or call for the customer care technicians.

Now this time around in Epson L 110 printer, there is no Waste Ink Tank, only a very big compartment full of Waste Ink Pads.

Once the Waste Ink Pads are full, the printer would turn red lights on, give you many prompts to check the ink level and so on.

I have successfully located the Waste Ink Pads and also arrived at a possible solution for the Waste Ink without the use of the waste Ink Pads.

I just reverted to the idea of fixing a detachable Waste Ink Tank to the Waste Ink Output point.

But the Epson Engineers did some quick thinking and made the Waste Ink Output tube very small in length, so that it cannot be pulled out to rejoin to another tube to make a Waste Ink Tank Possible.

Caution, Warning, Please Do Not Pull Out the Waste Ink Output Tube, once it is visible to you. I have tried it many times, but it cannot be done with a forcep or any other instrument.

Hence stop thinking of doing this. Now you have no other option left to attach the External Waste Ink Tank.

But I have got an idea and i have tried and tested it also. It is working. But for this you will have to do some indegenious re - tooling  work to make it a success.

Just try to avoid the usual tendency of fitting a new tube to the Waste Ink Rubber Tubing. Instead the fix a bigger tubing to the Hard black plastic Waste Ink Opening, just shown above in green colour arrow.

You have to use your own plastic container, which fixes correctly to the Hard black plastic Waste Ink Opening.

Just use a used Mosquito Repellent bottle. Just like the below shown image. You can improvise. Just you have do some retooling, or widening or narrowing of the plastic bottle.

Just remove the cap, inside you will be having black rod, which diffuses the mosquito repellent fluid. Pull out the black rod. Now try to fit the bottle to the Hard black plastic Waste Ink Opening (not the white tubing).

Personally, i have attached a squeezable plastic gum bottle.

This is a just a gum bottle. They fill synthetic gum in these bottles and sell for five rupees. i got a used bottle and then removed the top cover and the nozzle. Take the clear white bottle.

This plastic bottle is very sensitive to heat, just heat a small screw driver and put a hole at the  bottom  centre of the white plastic bottle

Let the plastic cool for some time. Take a straight plastic connector used for a fish tanks. Insert the Straight plastic connector in to the recently created hole a the bottom of the white plastic bottle. Just put some quick fixing hard adhesive to the plastic connector and then connect it. So that there is no leak.

Let it dry for a few minutes. Check for any leakage and then proceed to next step. Now just connect a white plastic fish tank aquarium  tube to the outside of the straight plastic connector.

Connect the Plastic bottle to the Hard black plastic Waste Ink Opening in Epson L 110 Printer and then let the tubing come down and put the tube in to a bigger plastic container externally.

First i use a buffer tank, the buffer tank is attached to the printer, there is a hosing tube from the buffer tank to the bigger external tank.

The ink could be drained periodically from bigger external tank. Whereas the buffer tank is always attached to the L 110 printer.

There is no need to re attach the Waste Ink Pad Chamber, by using this method.

The waste ink Pads in Epson L110 printer

Hello friends, in my previous post, i have given you information about the ink resetting in Epson L110 printer.

Now yesterday, i have found out the location of the Waste ink Pad in Epson L110.

Just turn the Epson L 110 Printer around to the back, pull the paper in tray up, just next to the power plug socket, you would find a screw. Just use a star screw driver, to unscrew the screw.

This is the only lock to the Wast ink Pad set up. Now lock the check valve to the ciss tank, so that there is no out flow of ink, when you turn the printer upside down.

Remove the ciss tank from the main Printer frame.

Now turn the printer upside down 50%, not a 100 % upside down.

Now move the paper output tray from the bottom a little to the front. On the left side of the bottom of the Epson L 110 printer, the Waste Ink Pad is located, a big rectangular box, with Waste ink pads stuffed in it.

Now move the Waste Ink Pad compartment a little to the right, the chamber would unlock itself and pull the chamber out.

If you want to reuse the Waste Ink Pad, you could saturate the Waste Ink Pads in alcohol, then dry them and again use it in the printer.

But all i would suggest to use is a Waste Ink Tank bottle to be mounted new. This time in this printer, Epson technical department has thought very meticulously and done a new trick to stop refilling by bulk inks.

Commercially, there is no Waste Ink Tank Bottle or kit available in the market. But you can make one by yourself. I have already done a Waste Ink Tank myself. It is being tested for some time.

I will talk about this in my next post.

warm wishes.

Epson L110 printer ink reset fix

Hello my friends, the above image is an Epson L 110 printer. It has a inbuilt Ciss Tank for printing a high volume of both black and colour pages. It boasts of 15,000 pages or 1 year warranty.

Epson offers Black and Colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) ink bottles for refilling. If we use original ink, the cost of printing would go to the higher end. There is also option of using third party ink which are non genuine. We could buy these bulk inks from website like Ebay.in

Ok we have bought a Epson L 110 printer for price of around 7000 rupees. The pack also contains ink bottles for adding in to the ciss tank.

Let us review how to unpack and fill the ink and get going.

Now you, have installed the L 110 epson printer, it is ready to print. Since Epson has promised 15,000 pages, you would print a lot of paper for your office and home related works.

Beware if some thing like this happens

If the ink light starts blinking, you would get a prompt from the epson printing software, that it is time to reset the ink level or time to refill the ink in to your ink tank.

Even after you refill the ink tank and the red ink light is still blinking, then what to do ?

You will start searching the internet for fixes or cracks. And finally you will land up with you tube videos called L110 adjustment programs or waste ink resetter programs, all of which either charge you 10 dollars per reset.

Try this video for instance

The video shows very simple steps, download a software, install it, then reset the ink level or waste ink pad level is cleared and you start printing. This is not simple, the video or blog will make to visit a website, which will charge you 10 dollars for the software.

Check out one such website:

so now what to do, either purchase the adjustment program by using your credit card or paypal account or should we call the epson customer care

Epson company is earning lots of income not by selling printers, but by selling epson genuine ink and by its customer service professionals and its on site epson technical engineers.

These Technical Engineers would come to your place, check out your epson printer, then charge you very high amounts of Indian rupees as repair fee.

Ok if the Espon Service Engineer is not called, you go to your local computer repair shop, for doing the repair, most of the technical guys do not do ciss tank repair, or waste ink pad replacements.

So what to do after investing 7000 Indian rupees in to very good espon L 110 printer. Is the printer dead or would it ever come back to working condition.

I am going to give you the tip which worked for me this morning. The red light has stopped blinking and the now the printer is working in very fine condition.

Free Software Waste ink resetters

1)Ssc Service Utility (does not support our Epson L 110) but can be used for normal flushing of ink and head cleaning.
2)Wic Reset Utility: It is free to download, but will not work without a reset key. To buy a reset a key you will pay 10 US dollars. Then they mail you the reset key. The reset key works fine for only one time and for one printer only. So we cannot reuse the reset key again.

Check out the following video

So what to do. It is very simple. Just relax, dont get mad at your L110 printer. Just read the lines just below. It might surely work for you as it worked for me. Just relax, play some nice music on your computer. Just Switch on your Epson L 110 Printer, the red ink light still blinking. Now look at the Epson logo, take a deep breadth. Turn around the printer, just go to the power cable. Just locate it. Now please dont unplug the power cable.

There are just buttons on your Epson L110 Printer.

1)The power on / off switch, which turns green

2)The next switch is the paper feed or ink button.

Now carefully view the 2nd Button on the black coloured Epson Printer. Just take a flash light and put some light on the second button.

After you have seen the 2nd button, there are two little led lights on it. One for the paper jam and the second for the ink refill button.

But the 2nd Button looks like a single switch, but there are two functions for it.

So since the red ink light is flashing, carefully put your fore finger on to it and give a gentle press.

Even if you keep on holding the red light button for an hour, the led light will not switch off.

Keep pressing the flashing red light part of the 2nd button and slowly turn the computer, locate the power plug, remove or unplug the power plug end from the printer's end. The power plug has to be disconnected while you are holding the red light button.

Now what will happen is, the printer's both green light and red light would be switched off, since there is no power supply.

After about a minute or so. Now you should listen carefully, you are about to plug in the power plug back on to the epson printer. ( just dont press any button or plug any cord, just listen and understand first)

Use your Right hand to plug the power plug, the left hand has five fingers. Place your fore finger on the power on switch (first switch), the middle finger on the red light blinking part of the 2nd switch.

I have already told that there are two functions to the 2 nd switch, so you have to be careful in holding the red light part of the 2 nd switch, not the entire button or switch.

Now plug the power cord with your left hand, press the red light blinking part of the 2nd switch with your middle finger, third thing switch on the printer using your forefinger the power on 1st switch. The green light will be on, printer would start making sounds, after a 1 minute gap of pressing the 2nd switch, remove your middle finger.

The red light part of the 2nd switch should be pressed before the printer is turned on, and should be still pressed for a minute, even after the printer is switched on. After a minute, the red light button should be released. Just wait for a few minutes, the red light would never turn on. Your printer would work as a new one. If you dont succeed at the first instance, try for a few more times. Till you get it right. This trick worked for me this morning. That is why, i am writing this blog to help you all.

Epson has one more pitfall or inbuilt resident evil in our L110 printer, which is the Waste ink tank and its associated pads. I am still not able to find the waste ink tank.

This above trick will help you make the printer work, but the waste ink tank is the ultimate bomb shell, which will definitely blow up your computer table with loads of waste ink, in a matter of few months.

warm wishes.
